Deputies: Woman Tried to Make Bomb Inside Tampa Walmart - Bay News 9

TAMPA, Fla. — A 37-year-old Tampa woman has been arrested and charged with making a bomb inside a Walmart store.

And it all happened with her daughter in attendance.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Emily Stallard was in the Walmart located at 2700 East Fletcher Saturday afternoon when a security officer found her making a bomb with nails, shoe strings and mason jars. 

The security officer, with help from a Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) officer, took Stallard into custody without incident. Officials said Stallard had her 9-year-old daughter with her. 

Deputies said Stallard, not only made the bomb inside the store using "an incendiary chemical mixture and wick" but also was heard saying "I will blow this place up." 

Officials said deputies took her into custody before she lit the device. There were no injuries. 

Stallard is facing charges of attempted arson, fire bombing, child abuse and contributing to the delinquency or dependency of child. She is being held on $8,500 bond.
